The plan comprises 77 primary actions and 199 implementation steps across eight strategic directions, including retrofitting existing buildings, transitioning to zero-emission vehicles, ensuring carbon-neutral new buildings, fostering complete communities, promoting active mobility and frequent transit, enhancing green infrastructure, and transitioning to a circular economy. It also prioritizes advancing equity, fairness, wellness, and inclusion throughout its implementation.

This City Centre Area Plan outlines a strategy for sustainable mobility and access to accommodate projected population growth to 90,000 residents by 2031. The plan emphasizes a multi-modal transportation approach, including the development of urban transit villages and leveraging the Canada Line, to reduce reliance on private automobiles and enhance pedestrian, cycling, and transit use. Key objectives are to build community through an accessible transportation system, promote green initiatives by reducing emissions, foster economic vitality through improved accessibility, and build a lasting legacy with a livable downtown.

This document outlines the Garden City Lands Water and Ecological Resource Management Strategy.
