The County Commission of Wood County established the schedule for the Board of Review and Equalization for the year 2026, pursuant to West Virginia Code Chapter 11, Article 3, Section 24. This involved setting dates for the Assessor to submit property books and for taxpayer hearings to contest property assessments. The Board will examine and review property books, correct errors, and add omitted assessments, though classification or taxability questions will not be considered. Taxpayers failing to apply for relief by the deadline waive their right to question the assessment correctness for the current year, except on appeal. The Commission will tour properties and adjourn Sine Die on February 19, 2026.

The County Commission received sealed bids for the demolition of a structure located at 89 Washington Heights, Parkersburg, WV. Bids were received from Graham Demolition, J.C. Bosley Construction, Inc, Asphalt Maintenance Solutions, LLC, and Empire Builders, Inc. The commission authorized the review of said bids by the Wood County Compliance Officer.

The County Commission opened sealed bids for vehicles and subcompact vehicles for the Wood County Sheriff's Department. Bids were received from multiple companies, and the commission voted to receive said bids for review.

The Wood County Commission awarded the bid for the demolition of a structure at 122 Victory Street, Parkersburg WV 26104 to Tim Graham Excavating LLC for the bid price of $5,900.00.
