School Board of the City of Virginia Beach Regular Meeting
The board meeting agenda included several key discussion topics: an update on the Virginia Department of Education's School Performance and Support Framework; implementation of cell phone-free education policies in alignment with Governor Youngkin's Executive Order 33; an overview of the school calendar development process for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years; and recognitions of outstanding student and school accomplishments, such as the National Blue Ribbon Award for Green Run Collegiate. Additionally, the board reviewed the Policy Review Committee's recommendations regarding various policies, including first aid, family life education, interscholastic competition, and class rank, as well as an audit charter amendment. New construction guidance for the Princess Anne High School and Williams Elementary/Bayside 6th Grade replacement projects was also discussed.
