The Subcommittee discussed the state-mandated update to Policy 583 concerning high school competency determination for diploma qualification. The discussion focused on defining specific courses for mastery in English Language Arts, Math, and Science, as well as establishing requirements for students with disabilities, English Language Learners, and late-enrolling students. The committee reviewed administrative data regarding students who previously failed to meet competency determinations and decided to maintain the current passing grade of 60 to remain consistent with neighboring districts. Additionally, the committee addressed the inclusion of advanced courses in the competency list to accommodate student learning levels and transfer students.

The committee voted on fiscal year 2026 stipend adjustments for unified kickball, the Oak Middle School peer mediation program, and the Oak Middle School 'the locker' support program. Additionally, the meeting featured recognition for retiring school leadership, including Dr. Lazot and Dr. Sawyer, with tributes and memories shared by colleagues and community members.
