The Planning Commission conducted two public hearings. The first was for an application to amend a Special Use Permit for a restaurant facility, resulting in a unanimous recommendation for approval to the Board of County Commissioners with eight conditions including requirements for driveway maintenance, weed mitigation, and waste management. The second public hearing concerned an exception application for lot merger/combinations in the Elk Meadows subdivision, which also received a unanimous recommendation for approval to the Board of County Commissioners with specific conditions regarding variances and a no-precedent clause. Additionally, the commission held a regular meeting to discuss old business regarding Section 2 and upcoming work sessions and meetings.
The meeting focuses on the review of a Combined Preliminary and Final Development Plan application for the Cimarron Ridge Planned Unit Development, proposing to subdivide a 41.53-acre property into six lots. The discussion includes staff analysis and conditions related to wildfire mitigation, wildlife migration corridor protection, drainage, utility installations, and school impact fee contributions. Additionally, the commission plans to nominate a Chair and Vice Chair for the Planning Commission.
The Board discussed community concerns regarding dispersed camping at Tuffy's Corner and potential ordinance enforcement. They approved expenditures and adopted proclamations designating May 2026 as Women's Health Month and Wildfire Awareness Month. The Board approved the disbursement of National Forest Payments to local schools and authorized a Memorandum of Understanding with CSU Extension. Additionally, the Board reviewed an interim fairground support invoice, a position modification request, an amendment to a cemetery board reappointment, and received a public health update.
