The council meeting included the proclamation of July as Somali Heritage Month and a presentation regarding the Mayor's Tariff Task Force, which secured a $5.2 million federal investment to support business growth through the Business Growth Accelerator and BNX AI program. Additionally, the council discussed local filmmaking support, including a review of the 2024 film strategy program, and addressed various administrative items such as bylaw amendments, budget adjustments for cycling facilities, and appointments to the election compliance audit committee.
