Discussions covered the renewal of a collaboration with the Food Bank to have a food pantry on site, and the need for the Division to prepare for a potential coronavirus pandemic with appropriate protocols. A negative newspaper article regarding staffing and pay was addressed. The department was able to establish a sign on bonus for new hires, as well as a bonus for referring employees. SHDC is renewing its partnership with the Food Bank and a new program will be implemented, Lions Quest sponsored by the Lions Club. New furniture was purchased for youth rooms at NCCDC prior to the ACA audit and the same changes are planned for SHDC. In-house training is taking place on Wednesdays to ensure that staff receive their required annual training. Medical testing is conducted on youth upon admission. The next scheduled family event is the Spring Fest on April 16, 2020.
