The Council discussed the Linn County Sheriff's monthly report regarding enforcement at the Simpson Property, approved enterprise zone applications for ATI Specialty Alloys and Components, and reviewed potential marketing strategies for city-owned commercial property. Additionally, the Council adopted a comprehensive plan map update, received status reports on public infrastructure projects like Transition Parkway and the Waverly Bridge, approved a restated land sale option agreement, established a new maintenance worker position, adopted a cost-of-living adjustment, and passed ordinances and resolutions regarding micromobility device regulations, state shared revenue eligibility, and the 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program. The meeting also addressed an upcoming city manager performance evaluation and a renewal of agricultural land leases.

The committee reviewed the financial report, noting expenditure for a popcorn machine. Key discussions centered on planning several community events, including the 2026 Car Show with updates on trophy categories, sponsorship, and vendor recruitment; the Day in the Park event logistics; and the Drone and Fireworks show. Additionally, the committee discussed plans for a holiday parade, a Christmas lighting event, and the scheduling of a Trunk or Treat event for Halloween.
