Faculty Senate Meeting Minutes
The Faculty Senate discussed revisions to the Faculty Handbook and updates from the UFSAM meeting, covering topics such as parental leave legislation, academic freedom, and retirement contribution changes. Implementation of department chair evaluations was tabled pending the development of a standardized instrument. The Senate reviewed responses regarding summer school compensation and engaged in planning for an upcoming Full Faculty Meeting. Additionally, the Senate discussed observations from recent department visitations and topics from the Extended Executive Cabinet Meeting, including participation in the University's Day of Giving. The Senate also determined that the annual budget should be utilized to support a faculty luncheon following the Full Faculty Meeting.
