Franklin County Legislature Regular Meeting
The meeting included the adoption of several policies, including an Animals in Workplace Policy and a Blood Donation Leave Policy. The legislature adopted the 2027 Franklin County Self-Insurance Worker's Compensation Budget and authorized contracts for medical exams with University of Vermont Health Network/Alice Hyde Medical Center and for indigent legal services with Brian Barrett. Financial actions included amending the 2026 budget for the Office for the Aging and the Office of Economic Development, as well as accepting several grants for the Emergency Services department. An appointment was made to the Franklin County Industrial Development Agency Board and related boards. The legislature set a public hearing date for the inclusion of parcels in the Franklin County Agricultural District, approved the sale of county-owned land, authorized participation in a Highway Safety Program, entered into a contract with Malone Minor Hockey, amended the Highway Department budget for CHIPS funding, and appointed a member to the Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System Board of Trustees. Finally, the 2026-2027 North Country Community College operating and capital budgets were approved.
