The workshop focused on discussing the direction of the Recreation Center and evaluating a proposed draft agreement between the Commission and the city. Key topics included the potential transfer of property ownership for Dogwood Park and Foster Creek Park, clarification on roles and oversight regarding city-purchased recreational properties, and methodology for improving communication between the Commission and local councils. The group also reviewed budgetary concerns, the allocation of district tax funds, and the integration of community feedback into the upcoming Parks Strategic Plan.

The Commission discussed the proposed long-term lease agreement for Foster Creek and Dogwood Park properties, focusing on its relationship with existing agreements, protection of current recreational uses such as soccer, and shared parking arrangements. Additional topics included requested revisions for site layout clarity, insurance and liability protections, lease payment terms, permitted land uses, and contract duration. The Commission also initiated a request for legal review of the draft and discussed the status of a commissioner re-appointment.

The Commission discussed collaborations with local artists for community activities at Graffiti Park, including potential free paint days. Old business included progress updates on an upcoming film program and outreach efforts. New business involved welcoming new commissioners and a proposal for a meditation garden. The Art Director's report covered the Adopt A Goose initiative, progress on the St James Crossing mural, and updates on MELT Goose Creek events. The Arts and Entertainment report outlined 2026 goals such as revising mission statements and grant writing, along with an overview of upcoming programming, including poetry readings, classes, and Black History Month events in partnership with the NAACP.

The Commission discussed several arts programming initiatives, including updates on the upcoming film program, workshops at The Creek Collective, and planning for the MELT event. Additional topics included the selection of new Adopt-A-Goose stickers, organizing a Women's Leadership Celebration, and various community arts events such as the NAACP Black Business Market and the upcoming Daning Concert Series. The Art Director and Arts & Entertainment Manager provided reports on ongoing programs, including the Adopt-A-Goose anniversary, new adoption interests, and upcoming facility programming.
