The Town Board meeting included a presentation recognizing a student's achievements in taekwondo. Public hearings were held to consider declaring a specific property as a nuisance, approving a building addition to the Booker T. Washington House, and amending the traffic code to install stop signs at various intersections. Public comments covered issues such as local flooding and culvert maintenance, deer culling programs, advocacy for a ban on gas-powered leaf blowers, and considerations regarding recycling contracts.
The board meeting primarily focused on the presentation of the supervisor's tentative budget for the upcoming year by the Town Clerk, in compliance with town law requirements. Following the presentation, the meeting was adjourned.
The meeting addressed several zoning variance applications. The Board granted variances for a front yard deck at 445 Coolidge Drive, a two-story home addition at 9 Radcliffe Drive, and a rear yard setback for a second-floor extension at 67 West 11th Street. The Board also heard a request regarding a second kitchen and the legalization and repair of retaining walls at 35 Hemingway Drive, which faced opposition from a neighboring resident regarding the wall's compliance, setback requirements, and aesthetic impact.
