The Commission entered into an agreement with the Adair County Soil and Water Conservation District to promote soil conservation, cost-share, and loan-interest share assistance programs, for which a $1,000 contribution was awarded. The Commission also discussed the recruitment of a replacement board member for the Adair County Library, reviewed upcoming dates for a state-required financial audit, and evaluated engineering qualification proposals for the construction of four small bridges on Banner Lane, Fox Trot Lane, Benton Road, and Oklahoma Trail.
The Commission met to discuss a presentation on a health insurance cost control program by ECCHIC, which included information on potential savings for the county and requests for employee data to facilitate a future quote. Additionally, the County Collector successfully requested a budget amendment to accommodate the procurement of a new tax bill folding machine and office furniture.
The Commission addressed various operational and administrative matters, including issues regarding tax bill processing and the proposed development of a new RTS Waste management transfer station. Reports were provided on Courthouse infrastructure projects, such as tree maintenance, gutter and downspout repairs, chimney removal, and the installation of solar lighting.
