This Housing Production Plan (HPP) provides a roadmap for the Town of Sturbridge to address current housing dynamics and achieve the state's 10% affordability threshold over the next five years. The plan prioritizes increasing affordable rental housing, supporting first-time homeownership, integrating handicapped accessibility and supportive services, and addressing home repair needs for low-income owners. Strategies include enhancing local capacity through community outreach and a dedicated task force, implementing zoning reforms such as a Starter Home Zoning District and Cottage Housing Bylaw, and leveraging development and preservation initiatives to create diverse housing options and support vulnerable populations.
