The Board of Education conducted its annual organization meeting which included the appointment of the District Clerk and the administration of oaths of office to board members. The Board elected its President and Vice President, appointed ex-officio student board members, and approved various board member appointments to several committees including the audit, policy, strategic planning, and security committees. Additionally, the Board conducted a regular session to move into an executive session for the purpose of reviewing the annual evaluation of the Superintendent of Schools.

The Board of Education meeting centered on celebrating student-athletes, specifically the boys' 4x400 relay track team and other track team members for their state championship achievements. The Superintendent and board members recognized the dedication of the students, parents, and coaching staff. The meeting included the approval of various action items and discussions regarding the recent graduation ceremony. Board members shared closing comments and well wishes for the upcoming summer break.

The Suffern Central School District’s District-Wide Safety & Emergency Management Plan, updated in June 2026, serves as a comprehensive framework for preventing, intervening in, responding to, and recovering from various emergencies. It details strategies for risk reduction, communication protocols (internal and external), and extensive training and drills, including those related to acts of violence, natural disasters, and communicable disease outbreaks. The plan also outlines proactive security measures, early detection of dangerous behaviors, and mechanisms for ensuring continuity of operations and instruction, emphasizing coordination with local emergency services and adherence to New York State regulations like S.A.V.E. and Desha's Law.

The board convened to conduct a regular meeting and moved to enter an executive session to discuss the employment history and performance of specific individuals and to review the annual evaluation of the superintendent of schools.
