Plan Commission Regular Meeting
The meeting focused on a proposed text amendment to the zoning ordinance and a corresponding map amendment to establish a new Open Space Institutional (OSI) zoning district. The commission discussed the objective of preserving public open space in alignment with the village's 2023 comprehensive plan. A two-phase approach was reviewed, with the first phase implementing the zoning district and map amendment, and the second phase intended for refining development standards. Clarifications were provided regarding the scope of the zoning changes, specifically addressing public concerns about the protection of existing green spaces versus institutional properties.
