The strategic approach focuses on preventing suburban sprawl, promoting efficient infrastructure use, and enhancing amenities such as trails, wildlife corridors, and historic resource preservation through a collaborative, site-specific development process.

The City Council discussed several key items, including a rezoning request for properties to be converted to residential compact zoning. The council reviewed the submission of the 2026-2027 annual action plan for the Community Development Block Grant and HOME programs. Additionally, there was a discussion on approving neighborhood matching grant awards for community projects and a street resurfacing contract. Finally, the council received a design update for the Academy Gibson skate park, pump track, and sculpture garden project.
