The City Council meeting included a presentation on Built Like Noah L. Day, recognized student volunteer efforts for the Mason Food Pantry, and swore in new firefighters. Resolutions were passed proclaiming National Fire Prevention Week and Mason Manufacturing Month. Discussions and actions were taken on a revised Concept Planned Unit Development Plan for the Villages of Mason, zoning code amendments, and a sponsorship with the Mason Symphony Orchestra. The council also reviewed and set public hearings for ordinances related to the Mason Mile Master Plan and zoning regulations. Additionally, approvals were granted for final plats for Nouveau Phases 1A and 1B, an economic participation agreement with VILPE USA, LLC, a signal upgrade project, and the Foxfield Drive Extension Project. The meeting also addressed the replacement of showers at the Mason Community Center, the disposal of surplus city equipment, and various committee reports. An executive session was held to discuss property matters, litigation, and employee compensation.

The 2010 Comprehensive Plan for the City of Mason is designed to provide a high quality of life for its residents and an excellent environment for business. The plan focuses on managing the transition from a fast-growth to a mature community by addressing challenges such as slower growth, stable tax revenues, and the need to reinvest in older neighborhoods and business districts. It emphasizes sustainable mixed-use development, energy efficiency, preservation of natural resources, and the addition of jobs to the local economy. The plan also prioritizes enhancing family-friendly tourism and industry, revitalizing downtown, developing a safe and multi-modal transportation system, and improving community image and quality of life.
