The committee discussed the planning for several community events, specifically adopting the "Sundaes in the Park" initiative, including procurement of signage, ice cream supplies, and scheduling for the initial event. Discussions also addressed planning for the Riverwalk Festival and the approval of both holiday and Halloween decorating contests. Additionally, the committee reviewed potential sponsorship levels, the status of the Wreaths Across America event, and current committee fund management. Future brainstorming sessions were proposed, and concepts regarding the promotion of other city events and the creation of a community closet were shared.

The City Council meeting included a presentation on the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 consolidated budget for both the City of Brewer and the Brewer School Department. Additionally, the Council authorized an application for a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant to support the construction of a basketball court at Capri Street Park, which includes a commitment of matching local funds.

The City Council conducted public hearings regarding a restaurant liquor and amusement license application and a proposed water rate increase. The council accepted various donations for city events, including the Riverwalk Festival, Ken Locke Stream Cleanup, and Fire Department EMS training. Several budgetary measures were approved, including reallocations of debt service funds, adoption of fair housing standards, appointment of election clerks, and approval of Fiscal Year 2027 budgets for the City, School Department, and Water Pollution Control Facility. Ordinances were amended regarding hauled wastewater discharge requirements and vehicle restrictions in parks, and the Mayor issued a proclamation for Juneteenth Celebration Day.

The committee held an election to appoint a new Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. Discussions focused on event planning, including the placement of the Christmas tree, the creation of a branded banner, and the success of the recent Easter event. The committee established a new subcommittee structure to manage four primary events, assigned members to upcoming holiday and Halloween activities, and reviewed logistics and volunteer needs for the upcoming Riverfest. Additionally, preliminary discussions were held regarding the location and programming for a summer event.

The City Council conducted a public hearing and addressed several agenda items, including the renewal of various amusement licenses, with one granted conditionally subject to inspection. The Council authorized a five-year contract with Catalis for new assessment software and a contract with Woodard & Curran for water main replacement engineering services. Additional approvals included committing a local match for a state infrastructure grant, authorizing an Urban Partnership Initiative agreement for traffic safety improvements, and adopting ordinance amendments related to land use codes, including new performance standards for data centers. The meeting also featured a presentation on the proposed waterfront zone.
