This document presents workshop materials for the development of a Public Art Master Plan for Morgan Hill. The plan proposes goals categorized under Local Identity, Art Access, Community Wellbeing, and Economic Vibrancy. It aims to guide the integration and management of public art to enrich the community's creative culture, reflect its unique spirit, foster connection, and fuel a thriving local economy.

This Public Art Master Plan establishes a comprehensive framework for the selection, installation, and maintenance of public art within the city. It outlines key components such as a vision statement, goals, objectives, and potential sites, and details a structured process for public art selection, funding, and installation. The plan emphasizes extensive community outreach and engagement to gather feedback on preferences and ensure public art reflects the city's themes, values, and cultural elements, ultimately aiming to create vibrant and engaging public spaces that contribute to the city's identity.

The City Council meeting included a public hearing to receive community input regarding the redrawing of city council district boundaries. The council discussed the redistricting process, communities of interest, and community outreach plans. The presentation included updates on the timeline, redistricting criteria, and the availability of raw 2020 census results. The council also addressed the contiguity of district D and reviewed the distribution of Latino eligible voters.

The City of Morgan Hill's 2024-2025 Strategic Priorities focus on building a safe, inclusive, and sustainable community. Key areas include fiscal sustainability, affordable housing and homelessness solutions (including new housing development, preservation of existing affordable housing, and homelessness prevention), community engagement, economic development and tourism (targeting healthcare, innovation/manufacturing, retail, and tourism sectors), transportation improvements (including the Transportation Master Plan, Hale Avenue Extension, and High-Speed Rail advocacy), and a healthy community (promoting active lifestyles, healthy food access, and addressing homelessness and mental health needs). The plan emphasizes collaboration with regional partners, community engagement, and data-driven decision-making to achieve its goals.

The City of Morgan Hill Strategic Priorities Workplan for 2024-2025 outlines key activities across various departments focused on fiscal sustainability, affordable housing, community engagement, economic development, transportation, and community health. Specific goals include cost containment, securing external funding, addressing transportation challenges, improving diversity, equity, and inclusion, enhancing communication, implementing a new ERP system, improving customer service, supporting local businesses, and addressing homelessness. The plan also includes initiatives related to water conservation, climate action, organic waste management, and affordable housing development. Progress is tracked by department, with estimated completion dates provided for various projects.
