The Planning Commission discussed draft code amendments regarding commercial drone delivery, focusing on ground-based operational components such as siting, safety protocols, privacy protections, and neighborhood compatibility. Members debated whether such facilities should require a conditional use permit or be classified as a permitted use within applicable zoning districts. Commissioners raised concerns regarding the proposed hours of operation, the potential for targeted surveillance, and the city's regulatory jurisdiction over airborne operations. The commission elected to delay scheduling a public hearing to allow additional time for review and further comment.
