New Bern Redevelopment Commission Redevelopment Commission Meeting
The commission reviewed guiding principles and core values, and held a discussion regarding a request from the United Worship Center to purchase property at 821 West Street for parking lot expansion and community use. The commission discussed the challenges of property ownership covenants, the need for a strategic inventory and classification of city-owned lots to guide future development decisions, and how to balance residential housing goals with the needs of community organizations.
