El Monte City School District Strategic Plan
This Strategic Plan outlines four key priority areas while simultaneously addressing a significant fiscal stabilization challenge. The plan focuses on ensuring academic excellence for all students through literacy and data-driven instruction, delivering diverse experiences and opportunities for future success, and preparing students to thrive in an interconnected world by providing behavioral and emotional support. A critical component is aligning leadership, staffing, and resources to student-centered priorities, specifically targeting a $20 million structural deficit resulting from declining enrollment and the expiration of one-time funding. The overarching goal is to achieve long-term fiscal stability and align organizational structure with current and projected enrollment and revenue, thereby protecting the student experience and advancing the strategic plan's objectives.
