Gloucester Public Schools School Committee Final Presentation
The School Committee presentation covers the FY 2025 budget, highlighting an increase in complex special education needs, multi-year out-of-district cost increases, and the end of ESSER COVID relief funding. The budget reflects $2.2 million in cost reductions, a $1.75 million increase in the operating budget, and $2.25 million in one-time funding. Key drivers of school cost increases include special education expenses, contractually obligated wages, and health insurance. The presentation also details employee health insurance costs, personnel and ordinary expenses, out-of-district tuition and transportation costs, and budget increases for reduced-level services.
