The Ohio Public Defender Commission meeting included discussions on recommendations for re-appointment to the Commission, state of Ohio mandatory trainings, and exceptional circumstances exemptions for attorneys Lock and Russell. A fiscal update was provided, including the FY 2025-26 budget, the FY 2026 annual budget, and the FY 2026-27 update. The Northwest Regional Hub was discussed, as well as the Capital Fee Council. There was also discussion of the Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) five-year review, Ohio Administrative Code 120-1-10, a director's report, a legislative update, and office highlights and upcoming trainings. The commission entered an executive session to consider the compensation of the State Public Defender.
