The commission conducted a budget workshop to review the FY 2026/2027 draft budget. Discussions covered the proposed salary schedule including a cost-of-living adjustment and one-time bonuses, general fund revenue projections, and department-specific expenses for administration, building, police, fire, public works, library, parks and recreation, and facilities. Additionally, the commission reviewed water and sewer department budgets in the context of an upcoming transition to an independent district, as well as revenue projections for Scipio Creek and Battery Park marinas. Future budget planning topics including the Capital Improvement Plan and fee schedule were noted for the next workshop.
