The strategic plan for Diamond Hill Elementary School aims to significantly improve reading proficiency, targeting an increase in the percentage of third graders and students in grades 3-6 scoring Meets or Exceeds on SC READY ELA to 75% by spring 2026, in alignment with the SDE 2030 goal. This will be achieved through key action items focused on strengthening Tier I Instruction, implementing effective Tier II / Intervention strategies, providing comprehensive Professional Learning, fostering Family & Community Engagement, and utilizing robust Data Monitoring to guide instructional decisions.

Key decisions included approving the construction of weight/wrestling/locker rooms at Dixie High School, adopting the 2021-2022 General Fund Budget (Option 2), and approving the first reading of policies IKADD (Content and Recovery) and JFABC (Transfer Students). Two induction contracts were also approved.

The meeting included a CIP workshop focusing on the CIP process, its purpose as a planning document, and the need for a policy on its development and implementation. Discussions included the addition of a turf field at AHS, involving quotes, potential grants, and field condition. An executive session addressed personnel recommendations and legal advice. The regular session covered Gold Star Highlights recognizing high-achieving students, construction updates on Dixie High School's Field House, the Career Center, AHS, and DHS, and a review of draft calendar options for 2024-25. Other topics included gym bleachers for AHS and DHS, a maintenance update, a financial update, curriculum and instructional updates, and a board chairman's update. Action items included the approval of bleachers for AHS and DHS, and the first reading of several policies. A request for information regarding employee leave was made.
