Pasadena Independent School District Local Innovation Plan 2027-2032
This Proposed Local Innovation Plan for Pasadena Independent School District outlines how the district will utilize its 'District of Innovation' designation to gain local control by obtaining exemptions from specific provisions of the Texas Education Code. The plan's strategic direction focuses on several key areas of innovation, including local oversight of class size, flexibility in setting the school start date, emphasizing academic mastery over strict attendance for credit, allowing exceptions to state certification requirements for specialized positions, extending probationary contract periods for new experienced educators, and developing alternative appraisal processes for certain certified roles. These innovations are intended to align local decision-making with the district's mission and vision, enhance student outcomes, strengthen organizational capacity, and promote continuous improvement across the district.
