The Committee discussed and approved four applications for minor variance under the Planning Act. These applications concerned properties located at 1461 Leger Way, 725 Lingen Crescent, 101 Nipissing Road, and 1038 Bradley Terrace. Each approval was granted subject to specific conditions, including adherence to submitted site plans, requirements for building permit issuance within defined timelines, fire safety compliance, and specific construction or maintenance obligations.
The Committee of Adjustment and Consent meeting focused on reviewing several minor variance applications under the Planning Act. Key items included the consideration of a detached dwelling construction with garage and driveway variances, an Additional Residential Unit (ARU) within an existing basement, changes to parking calculations for industrial units, proposals for accessory structures for waste storage, and a request for a pool in a front yard. Each item involved assessing conformity with official plans, zoning by-laws, and specific agency requirements, leading to conditions for approval such as site plan compliance, permit procurement, and environmental mitigation measures.
The Council Meeting addressed various agenda items including revisions to bylaws and appendices, and the addition of multiple delegations regarding the official plan adoption for Milton and local subdivision applications. Members discussed asset management reports, the use of development charges for investment to offset capital programs, and the review of major intersections with concerns regarding U-turn signage and pedestrian safety. Public meetings were held regarding the extension of a temporary use bylaw for a garden suite and a temporary real estate office application.
