This strategic plan for the City of Leuk, spanning from 2027 to 2030, aims to guide the city's growth and meet community needs. The board discussed a variety of environmental initiatives and city projects. Key topics included the Land Use Bylaw updates and public hearing schedules, the seasonal opening of the Dr. Woods House Museum, and upcoming community events like Canada Day and Arbour Day. Administrative reports covered new staff hiring and conference participation. Unfinished business focused on actionable initiatives such as pollinator and pesticide management, natural asset workshops, community clean-up logistics, and ongoing monitoring of watershed health, tree protection policies, and multi-unit waste diversion. The board also reviewed a presentation for Council and discussed potential collaboration on the Bird-Friendly Municipality certification.
