North Central Esd Regular Board Meeting Minutes
The meeting included legislative updates, including tracking SB 141, also known as the Accountability Bill. Penny has been working with districts to finish their Federal Programs budgets and narratives. The first Superintendent Meeting for the school year is next Tuesday, September 9th. Penny is working with Columbia Gorge ESD on a plan for SSPS. Penny presented the two open OSBA positions for the Gorge Region- Legislative Policy Committee and Position 2-Gorge Region OSBA Board Representative. Each district will have two members in Engagement Committee. Early Literacy grants may now be used for purchasing curriculum and training for up to 5th grade students and the rules have been broadened to allow for implementation with fewer requirements. Kurt presented the Personnel Report which includes the current open positions for NCESD. The updated Employee Handbook was presented for the board to review. The board held the first reading on policies GBN/JBA- Replace, GBN/JBA-AR(1), GBN/JBA-AR(2), GCBD/GDBD- New, GCBDE/GDBDE- New, IGBAB/JO-AR- Replace, IGBHD-New, JOA- Replace. Each ESD is designated a spot on the OAESD Governance Council for a board member. Penny Fender presented an out of state travel request for the AESA Conference in December.
