Avery County Board of Commissioners Board of Commissioners Meeting
The meeting included the recognition of Avery Transportation drivers for awards received from the North Carolina Public Transportation Association, and the proclamation of Hurricane Preparedness Week in Avery County. Board appointments were approved for the Avery County Transportation Advisory Board, the Planning Board, and the Health Advisory Committee. The Tax Administrator’s collection report was accepted, and an ordinance regarding criminal history record checks was finalized. Additionally, the Board passed a resolution opposing modifications to county property tax authority, approved various plans and policies for the Senior Center CDBG project, and discussed the status of several parks and recreation projects, including the Little League fields and Green Valley Park.
