The City Council of the City of Pittsburg discussed amending the Pittsburg Municipal Code to add Chapter 15.91, entitled "Residential Rental Property Inspection Program." The program aims to establish enforceable minimum standards for residential rental properties, ensure rehabilitation or elimination of substandard housing, and preserve the quality of life for residents. The ordinance covers periodic inspections, a self-certification program, annual inspection fees, exemptions for newly constructed and subsidized buildings, violation notices, enforcement measures, and tenant relocation in unsafe properties.

The Pittsburg Planning Commission meeting involved a presentation on the Pittsburg Center BART Station and surrounding improvements. Discussion included a request to initiate a study to amend Title 18 of the Pittsburg Municipal Code regarding zoning designations for residential uses in non-residential districts.
