Ocean Academy Charter School Informational Presentation 2025
This informational presentation outlines the establishment and purpose of the Ocean Academy Charter School (OACS) Special Education Parent Advocacy Group (SEPAG), known as SAIL (Support & Advocacy for Inclusive Learning). It details the group's roles, responsibilities, and broad goals, and initiates the development of a guiding mission statement. The presentation clarifies what SEPAG is (a state-mandated, parent-driven group providing input on system-level special education challenges) and what it is not (an individual advocacy group), identifies target attendees (parents/guardians of students with disabilities), and provides meeting logistics. The overarching aim is to foster a supportive community and collaboration between families and school staff to strengthen inclusive learning and student success.
