Shelby County Commission Regular Meeting
The Commission adopted the operating budget for fiscal year 2027, which includes cost-of-living adjustments for employees, pay scale adjustments for courthouse security staff, and funding for various capital projects such as school resource officer support, vehicle replacement, and community improvement grants. The Commission also approved the 2026-2027 holiday calendar, awarded the bid for the Courthouse Courtroom 2A renovation project to the lowest responsive bidder, and authorized the negotiation of a contract for a Jail Management System software solution. Additionally, the Commission approved the vacation of a drainage easement and appointed Animal Control officers to investigate violations of Beau's Law regarding animal cruelty. Finally, the sale of property within the Shelby West Corporate Park to facilitate economic growth and job creation was approved.
