The Committee reviewed a recent workshop concerning the Sector Plan and discussed draft recommendations, critical features, and priorities for the plan. Plans were established to present a report to the Board of Managers and to prepare a working draft for submission to the Planning Board, with an anticipated public hearing request scheduled later in the year.

The committee provided updates regarding discussions with Montgomery County Planning Board staff and members. Members deliberated on the upcoming joint meeting with Chevy Chase Village staff, consultants, the Montgomery County Planning Board staff, and the Chevy Chase Land Company to identify common areas of agreement for the Sector Plan. Additionally, the committee reviewed consultations with planning specialists, architects, and zoning attorneys regarding recommendations for the Board of Managers, while also discussing draft recommendations and key priorities for the Sector Plan.

The committee discussed recommendations to the Board of Managers regarding the Montgomery Planning Department's Preliminary Recommendations for the revised Friendship Heights Sector Plan, including potential amendments. Additionally, the committee scheduled upcoming workshops with the Montgomery County Planning Department and the Chevy Chase Land Company.

The committee provided updates on ongoing discussions with the Montgomery County Planning Board and planned for an upcoming joint meeting with the Planning Board and the Chevy Chase Land Company to align on Sector Plan objectives. Additionally, the committee discussed consulting with planning specialists, architects, and zoning attorneys to refine draft recommendations and critical features of the Sector Plan.

The committee meeting covered updates on the Buffer Area project, including the submission of a report from BayLand Consultants & Designers, Inc. for pending staff and legal review. Other discussions included the repair of the West Kirke Median curb and upcoming planting, the replacement of deceased trees on Belmont and Oliver Streets, and a recommendation against pursuing ground cover at Little Triangle Park due to costs. The committee also noted the need for cleanup of dead vegetation at the corner of Oliver and Kirkside, and ongoing coordination for the final stages of the Buffer area renovation, including tree pruning and removal planning.
