BoardSt. Bernard Parish Public Schools Special Education Advisory Committee Annual Report
The Special Education Advisory Committee conducted several meetings throughout the year. Key topics discussed included establishing annual goals for student success in and out of the classroom, providing family trainings and transition support for older students, and ensuring teachers have necessary tools and capacity. The committee reviewed past successes such as the Exceptional Lives partnership, Dual Enrollment programs, and internships. Additional discussions focused on resources for holding meaningful IEPs, Medicaid information, transition planning, and methods for effectively communicating information to parents.
