City Of Saskatoon Climate Action Strategy 2026
The 2026 Climate Action Strategy provides a comprehensive approach for the City of Saskatoon to achieve climate readiness by reducing carbon pollution and preparing for climate change impacts. It is structured around two main playbooks: the Net-Zero Transformation Playbook, focusing on goals such as energy efficiency, zero-emission energy generation and transportation, waste reduction, water conservation, green network enhancement, and carbon removal; and the Climate Resilience Playbook, addressing safe and resilient homes and buildings, health risks from heat and wildfire smoke, emergency response, community preparedness, infrastructure resilience, and employee health and safety. The strategy aims to cultivate a net-zero and climate-resilient community where all residents and businesses thrive, guided by principles of equity, reconciliation, prosperity, and miyo-pimâtisiwin (the good life).
