The meeting included a proclamation for a long-serving employee and various general business approvals. Key actions included the purchase of radio consoles for the Joint Public Safety Communications Department, renewal of personnel contracts with the University System of Georgia, awarding contracts for the Driftwood Drive Boardwalk construction, Old Jesup Road drainage improvements, Historic Courthouse paver renovations, and Fourth Street drainage replacement. The Board also addressed the purchase of shade canopies for the Animal Services center, a hazardous materials commodity flow study, and strategic planning software. The board conducted a comprehensive review of the 2023-2026 Glynn County Strategic Plan and initiated discussions regarding the strategic vision and goals for the 2027-2030 planning cycle. Key discussion areas included the development of a culture of service excellence through improved internal and external communication and workforce development, public safety initiatives focusing on recruitment and retention and infrastructure support, and a long-term strategy for infrastructure, quality of life, and recreational facilities. Additionally, the board reviewed the implementation of a 10-year capital plan and the coordination of development and transportation planning with regional partners.
