This document outlines the City of Lemoore's strategic direction from 2015 to 2020. These initiatives are designed to maintain the city's sense of community and small-town feel while facilitating its development into a mid-sized, full-service city.

The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing regarding the 2024-2032 Housing Element update, which aims to meet state housing law requirements and regional housing needs. Discussions included housing production, infrastructure capacity, fair housing assessments, and programmatic changes to zoning and design standards to support diverse housing types. The commission reviewed findings from the Department of Housing and Community Development and recommended the formal adoption of the revised housing element to the City Council.

The council meeting included a ceremonial presentation for the Employee of the Month. Key business items involved updates on department reports, approval of the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget, and the continued discussion regarding an ordinance for the volunteer fire department. The council also approved several consent items, including lease agreements, salary schedule updates, and financial consulting services, while also receiving reports from council members on community events and regional meetings.

The council recognized employees of the month for April and May 2026. A study session was held to review the final draft budget for fiscal year 2026-2027, covering operational funds, position allocations, general fund projects, and enterprise funds for water, sewer, and refuse services. A public comment addressed a grant opportunity from the Department of Justice for tobacco control, and representatives from the city engineering and planning firm expressed support for Public Works Week.

The City of Lemoore's 2024-2032 Housing Element provides a strategic roadmap to address existing and projected housing needs for all community segments, in compliance with California Housing Element Law. It encompasses a detailed housing needs assessment, identification of resources and opportunities, analysis of constraints, and a plan for affirmatively furthering fair housing. The document outlines goals, policies, and implementation programs designed to facilitate housing production, preservation, and improvement, ultimately aiming to expand housing opportunities, support economic stability, promote fair housing choice, and maintain the quality and diversity of Lemoore's housing stock.
