School Board Board Meeting
The meeting included an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance. A student representative from Sarasota High School was welcomed and shared her future plans. The finalists for Sarasota County Teacher of the Year were recognized, including elementary, middle, and high school teachers. The board members expressed their gratitude for the teachers' dedication and impact. The agenda was adopted with additions to the human resources personnel report. The superintendent reported on inter-agency agreements, services for homeless children, and a partnership with the Education Foundation to track post-secondary outcomes of graduates. The expansion of the STC Northport campus was discussed, including potential partnerships and funding.
