Sacramento County Public Health Advisory Board Meeting Minutes
The board approved appointments for the HIV Health Services Planning Council and voted to support the Community Wellness Response team through a formal letter to the Board of Supervisors. Significant discussion focused on the negative health impacts of federal immigration enforcement policies on immigrant communities, including reduced access to care and mental health services, resulting in a decision to notify the Board of Supervisors of these findings. Public Health updates included the upcoming expiration of federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, potential funding cuts for maternal and child health and emergency preparedness, and the continuation of full funding for the HIV/STD program. Primary Care updates included reports on jail facility tours and correctional health services, along with the introduction of the new Primary Care Clinic Director.
