Wilmington City Council Regular Meeting
The Council conducted a regular session that included the approval of a new CVB board member and public hearings regarding rezoning requests for properties on Nelson Avenue and other areas. The session covered updates on downtown street lighting upgrades and administrative responses to public allegations. The Council passed numerous pieces of legislation, including resolutions for the appointment of a Municipal Prosecutor, various annexation agreements, an employee benefit consultancy contract, and the authorization of a water treatment plant rehabilitation project. Additionally, the Council established a temporary moratorium on zoning approvals for vaping product businesses, accepted several financial and departmental reports, and entered into executive sessions to discuss economic development strategies and pending litigation.
