The Emergency Board met to discuss the impact of a federal shutdown on the LIHEAP and 3SquaresVT programs. The Board approved a motion for a temporary state-funded contingency benefit to support 3SquaresVT participants and authorized funding to be directed to the Vermont Foodbank to assist food shelves during the benefit gap. Additionally, the Board established a contingency plan to reconvene if the federal shutdown persists or USDA funding is not restored.
