This document outlines the Collingswood School District's recreation plan, developed in collaboration with the Borough, aimed at fostering a thriving community through enriching activities and amenities. The plan focuses on modernizing athletic facilities at the middle and high schools for year-round public and school use, acquiring the former Good Shepherd site to expand indoor recreational spaces (including a gym, kitchen, and cafeteria), and establishing an ADA-compliant inclusive playground while opening all existing school district playgrounds for public access. Key priorities include promoting wellness, community spirit, and ensuring accessible, safe, and modern facilities to meet diverse community needs, supported by a shared service agreement to manage resources and address long-term facility challenges.

This document introduces the "VISION 2026" long-term strategic plan, which aims to guide the future of education and foster an engaging learning environment for students. The plan identifies seven key target areas: Portrait of a Graduate; Programs, Pathways, and Proficiency; Social, Emotional, and Mental Health; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Student Voice | Student Life; Communication; and Infrastructure, Facilities, and Finance. The plan emphasizes continued community and stakeholder input to determine the future direction of education.

The meeting addressed the reopening of Collingswood Public Schools, focusing on restarting and reinventing strategies within Oakland Public Schools. The discussion included investments, actions, and sources of information used to inform the reopening plan. Key priorities were identified to ensure a safe return, such as closing the digital divide, strengthening blended and distance learning, assessing student needs, and promoting social-emotional learning. The board also addressed health and safety measures, including mask requirements, vaccination policies for staff, social distancing, and maintaining healthy facilities.

The meeting included a presentation on a girl scout Gold Award project addressing period poverty and shaming, detailing the implementation of free tampon access in the school and the results of a related survey. Additionally, there was a presentation on the German exchange program, highlighting its 30-year anniversary and the experiences of students participating in the program, including cultural immersion, travel, and personal growth.

The meeting included discussions and updates on planning for the fall of 2021, particularly concerning school reopening. Key topics included health and safety measures, teaching and learning strategies, and orientation activities for students. The board also discussed the timeline for releasing the formal comprehensive school reopening plan and holding community forums. Additional discussions covered guidance from the Department of Education and the CDC, the implementation of the Start Strong diagnostic assessment, and considerations for students in grades K-3.
