The Planning Commission meeting covered several operational and land-use items. The Director provided updates on the Odell Unincorporated Community Project, the adoption of FEMA flood hazard maps, changes to the Gorge Commission Management Plan, and delays regarding the Accessory Dwelling Unit ordinance. The primary agenda item was the continued public hearing on an appeal filed by Thrive Hood River against a tentative industrial land-use permit approval for a warehouse and distribution center. After deliberations regarding traffic study requirements, site access standards under Section 31.60A, and burden of proof, the Commission voted to sustain the appeal and deny the application, subsequently authorizing the Chair to sign the denial.
