City Council Agenda Briefing Worksession
The City Council held a meeting that included discussions on the disposition of city-owned land guidelines, the encampment response protocol, and a community space upfit update. A presentation was given on Equitable and Affordable Housing and Stability, covering strategies such as anti-displacement measures, increasing housing supply, and updating the Unified Development Ordinance. The council also discussed a resolution to close a portion of Sawyer Street for an affordable housing project, as well as resolutions authorizing contracts for utility repairs, pavement management software, debt financing, public safety interoperability, fire department aid, and customer service at parking garages. Other topics included speed limits on Haywood Road and Swannanoa River Road, transit grant funds, and the Swannanoa River Greenway project.
