The workshop focused on the superintendent search process. A consultant presented survey results and key concepts gathered from focus groups, and guided the board through profile development questions. The board established a rubric for the initial evaluation process and discussed the future timeline for application openings, interviews, the naming of the lone finalist, and the new superintendent's start date.

The board discussed several informational reports including construction services for the middle school and elementary school parking lot improvements, intruder audit committee reports, and monthly finance and project reports. New business included the approval of funding for the Calallen Middle School Intercommunication Upgrade Project from bond savings, the approval of a budget amendment for fiscal year 2025-2026, and a decision on a Level III grievance regarding a facilities ban. Additionally, the board approved the renewal of various employee contracts and finalized new staff appointments.

The workshop will feature a presentation from Impact Education Specialists regarding the ongoing superintendent search. Additionally, the board will discuss the timeline, procedural aspects, and communication strategy for the recruitment of a new superintendent.

The board meetings included a presentation of the 2007-2008 AEIS report and a recognition of the Jump Rope for Heart initiative. The board discussed and approved the 2007-2008 Financial Audit Report, the purchase of an agricultural truck, and the contract for the Calallen High School Stadium Improvement Project. Additionally, the board awarded a contract for the new construction of Magee Intermediate School, approved Localized Update 84, and addressed personnel changes including resignations and a new teaching appointment. Action on the Pre-AP/AP guideline update was deferred pending state guidance.

The board meetings covered several key topics including the review of the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services plan, the approval of various contracts for geotechnical engineering, construction material testing, and architectural services, and the selection of the Construction Manager-At-Risk delivery method for several 2023 Bond projects. The board also adopted Guardian and Marshall programs, discussed district governance, organizational processes, and strategic planning for the development of a balanced scorecard, and held a community meeting to identify district strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
