The task force met to discuss its goals and objectives regarding the Center for Healthcare Affordability. Key topics included understanding current drivers of healthcare spending, analyzing the impact of federal funding cuts on coverage and premiums, and defining the role of the task force in offering operational and clinical perspectives to shape future affordability reforms. Participants explored the potential for data-driven evidence to inform policy and discussed the necessity of long-term sustainable strategies for improving healthcare affordability.

The meeting agenda includes discussions on member term expirations and the summer appointment process, updates from the Artificial Intelligence and Bridging Information and Care work groups, and an examination of themes from the HTI-5 Coordinated Response regarding future engagement. The council reviewed and approved the eligibility of three candidates for the environmental health specialist/sanitarian examination. Additionally, the council received updates regarding proposed rules currently under review by the legal team.

The meeting centered on learning and sharing information regarding systems change and population health. Key discussions included a recap of the Water for Systems Change model, which explores six conditions of systems change, and a presentation on how the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership operationalizes structural change through policy, systems, and environmental strategies. The group also reviewed Partnership updates, including ongoing work on the Statewide Health Improvement Framework and the formation of health priority workgroups, and participated in a networking activity to align work with health priorities.
