The meeting included an acknowledgment of former Chairperson Heather Burnash and the review of a letter concerning the Flint Central High School redevelopment project. Under old business, the Commission discussed a special land use petition update, the status of the Ward 7 Planning Commissioner appointment, roster updates, staffing organizational charts, officer elections, and updates to the Planning Commission manual.

The Special Affairs Committee meeting agenda includes the acceptance of Genesee County Senior Millage funding for the Eric Mays Senior and Community Services Center and a budget amendment for FY2026. Other items include the proclamation of June 2026 as Pride Month, the appropriation of funding for the Third Clean and Safe Summer Youth Job Training Program, the reallocation of ARPA funds to the Water Rate Stabilization Fund, and the approval of settlements for the cases Weary v City of Flint et al and McGlown v City of Flint.
